Whether or not you’re a veteran of the annual Spoleto arts festival in Charleston, I’m sure you’ll love the site SpoletoCharleston.net.

Presented by the folks at Charleston’s TheDigitel.com the site focuses on orienting you to the festival and leaves the day-to-day coverage to their main site at Charleston.TheDigitel.com

Why will you like it? Take a look at some of these headlines:

Spoleto for the Whole Family

As for why they’ve split their site into two sections, Senior Editor Ken Hawkins said that, “SpoletoCharleston.net allows us to present a web experience for those that need to get a fix on what’s going on this year while our news site, Charleston.TheDigitel.com, allows us to focus on day-to-day updates.”

When it comes to staying up on our big sister city up the road (that’s Charleston) I love reading TheDigitel.

It’s a great spot to keep up with not only what they think is interesting, but they’ll even point your over to other sites (like The Post and Courier or a blog) that has good Charleston content. TheDigitel watches all of the local media and filter out the junk content you don’t have to. It’s like book reviews for journalism!

And unlike a lot of local media they update the site throughout the day so you’re not left to starve for more reading during the workday, and it’s all local! So if you’re reading about the best in biking, you know it’s Charleston biking and not Michigan biking.

And it’s just pretty to look at!

Oh, and if you’re going up to Charleston the weekend, do check out TheDigitel’s event calendar: http://charleston.thedigitel.com/events

They also have a wonderful blog that’s a great way to keep up with not only what’s going on at the hotel, but what’s going on in town. It’s great that they’ve tipped us off to the wonderful deal at Saltus!

The Lowcountry may not be the first place people would come for a family vacation. No one equates pristine golf courses with temper-tantrum-throwing toddlers or historical church tours with slobbering babies. But in the past several years, Beaufort, Bluffton and Hilton Head Island have become wonderful places to visit for the entire family, especially the wee ones.

Hilton Head’s miles of beaches are perfect for day of frolicking in the sand, swimming in the ocean and even fishing for sharks. Framed by the May River, Bluffton offers fishing holes, crabbing and boating. By land, there are festivals, indoor playgrounds and lots of local restaurants with chicken fingers on the menu. Beaufort’s antebellum reputation makes it picturesque for a day of bike riding, picnicking and more.

There’s only one problem: If there’s so much to do, where can we learn more? You don’t have to look long, because there’s a new Web site for families with all of the information you’d want in one place — www.lowcountrychild.com. It bursts at the seams with important, timely information, including calendar of events, activities directory and medical directory.

So much information in one place, there has to be a catch, right? Wrong! All of the information is well-organized, easily navigable and user friendly. You don’t have to hunt and peck for information that matters to you.

Additionally, the site is not a locals-only site; it’s geared toward people who know the lay of the land and toward tourists who’ve never heard of the foot-shaped island, surrounding islands and the historic expanse of land known as Bluffton.

If you’re planning your next vacation in the Lowcountry or you’re curious about our area, check out www.lowcountrychild.com today!
